Ever sketched koru?

 * This week i have been learning how to draw

(Koru Patterns)

which represents the symbol of creation used mainly in Maori art*

Below i have sketched some KORU pattern from the story of MAUI !

Also to keep interesting i asked my family if i could take photos of their moko.

My dad and uncles wear their Tamoko proudly.

Here are photos

  2. Morena Benjamin,

Beautiful drawing Benjamin. I like that you have looked closely at the image to sketch it. What a great deal of thought that has gone into you blog post. I didn't know that koru is the Maori word of 'loop'. Thanks for teaching me that. I can see from what you have shared that it is very special to you and your whanau.

    God bless,
    Miss Hickling
