 30.08.2021

Maths Escape Room Challenge

Kiaora Hi

Today for our math task we had to try and figure out how to escape these rooms with math questions in them. At the end of every correct answer there was a code that would eventually spell out a word. I found this task really difficult and needed help from my parents, After all our working out we finally escaped each room.

Have you ever done a escape room? If so leave me a comment below explaining how you found it?

Thanks for looking at my blog post.

I found this task absolutely fun to do,  have you done any of these exercises before, have a look at my photo collage to see, please leave me a comment if you have. I also did a video as well, dad and i challenged ourselves to do twenty push ups, i enjoyed it.

First exercise was a plank for one minute, a plank is where your elbows on the ground underneath your shoulders with your feet hip width apart.

Second exercise was a push upraising your body and using your arms to push and hold your body weight off the ground.

Third exercise was the sit up This is where you get someone to hold your feet whilst laying on your back and then sitting up.

Forth Exercise jumping jacks also known as star jumps.

Fifth exercise the wall hold Mum did this in the Navy you hold your arms out in front of you whilst your back is to the wall, its actually really difficult.

sixth exercise was step ups, i used the sofa (don't tell mum) :) It was actually fun, high but fun. you step up like your stepping up some stairs.

The Amazing Race

Hi, Kia ora, today this task i am going to  complete is the amazing race, where you compete in different activities between each other, in this case my dad. My dad and i chose 2 not so hard challenges to compete at, we did this challenge where you had to get a cookie from the top of your forehead to your mouth, and your not allowed to use your hands. This was fun and i would do it again, dad managed to complete the task. I didn't capture this on video i was to slow. :)The second activites was to eat 3 dry weetbix as fast as you can without touching it. This was challenging because it was dry and hard to grab and swallow. I didn't complete this one because our video would have taken up to much space. dad ate one whole weetbix so he won, i really enjoyed these two tasks and would recommend everyone to give them ago.

For the third task we had to spell geothermal.then we had to find 10 words from the word  and write them down in a list, i found a few more then 10 words.

Ever made a 3d shape?

 26.08.2021

3d shapes

Kia Ora, today our class had to create a 3d shaped object, I created mine using paper and a glue stick.

It was really fun learning where to glue the edges to make it look like a star. My uncle and i created this by cutting 2 identical square pieces of paper 20cm by 20 cm then we folded them both into triangles then opened it up and turned it and then folded it the other way, then we folded it into half both ways and then we opened it again and then folded each corner as if you were making a jet plane then opened it up again. then the 2 half lines we cut up to the folds, then we folded each corner to a star shape and walah. complete. :)

With the help of my uncle we came up with this shape, enjoy please feel free to comment on my post below.

here is a link that our teacher gave us to watch.  on how to make some 3d shapes enjoy MA TE WA

What is composting?

 The benefits of composting

Today as a task our class had to read and watch a video of composting. And what benefits it brings to the world.

using certain types of trash you can turn trash beautiful flowers or plants.
beautiful greenery.
To make a proper compost it should not smell.
you can also use a lot of decomposers which is worms, fungi etc to help make your compost nutrient.
Compost is made up of dirt, leaves, brunches, food scraps mostly. Compost takes a while to decompose, Living things like worms, bugs help with that process.

I personally think composting is very good because it helps with the environment if it is made correctly. you can also reuse a lot of things like the apple core, can be replanted and grow again into a plant! exciting it is.
The world needs composting because it is good for the environment.

Here is a image of my own compost.
