Day 5 isolation

                                 Covid19                         30.03.2020
Kiaora (Hello)
Good morning,
First thing is first our Karakia,

Translation into English

Amen

This morning, i woke up quite early as i could not sleep, i heard a lot of rain outside, it sounded really peaceful, it got heavier and louder tho, so i decided to come on to my blog to write a little about what i know about (COVID19) The Coronavirus, This virus is now a Global Pandemic, with cases raising by the number every day, in New-Zealand we have 514 probable confirmed cases, unlike the united states of America with a whopping 132,893 cases confirmed. Its very terrifying to know that the world is under quarantine because of this devastating pandemic. I pray everyday that things will be back to normal and we will be allowed out again. I pray that all those families who have lost their loved ones to the covid19 are managing, are looked after by the lord.
Some of my family members are what they call essential workers (on the front line- what my mum says) which means they are risking their lives for us. :) My uncle is a apple picker he goes out regular to pick juicy apples for the local supermarket, along side other fruits and vegetables.
My Dad works at a local Petrol station as a supervisor so he has to make sure we have petrol in our vehicles and my mum is a nurse, she looks after sick people, making sure their needs are taken care of. I appreciate them all so much.
Here is a little video of the latest update our wonderful prime minister and what she has to say about the COVID19

Keeping updated with what is happening lets us know what our plan of action to keep this virus from spreading, I know that if we move the virus moves, hence why we are in lockdown.
This virus can really hurt peoples lives, it can destroy ones mental health as well. so we have to be kind, be safe AND STAY AT HOME. <3
Thank you
Benjamin.

I have seen a closing Karakia that i would like to share please and thank you.

My Whanau are playful

My whanau are friendly

They love to cook at the Marare

My whanau are important to me.

My whanau share

My whanau are have a Marae

I love my whanau.
Why is whanau important?
Whānau is the foundation of Māori society – it's our main source of strength and support, and gives us a sense of identity. Spending time with whānau, doing things for them, and getting involved, gives you a feeling of purpose, connection and wellbeing. It benefits you, and builds the strength of your whole family.

Super Senses FROM Benjamin

Interesting fact                                  27.03.2020
My dad has a LARGER nose than my mum :P

Today I gathered A few house hold items and used my nose to smell what different smells there were.

1.starting with our hand soap
Dettol Hand wash (it smelt like roses :))
2. Baby Wipes (They were Fragrance free, so i could not smell anything, it was really wet tho.
3. I opened a packet of strawberry creme cookies (those smelt delish. :) like candy
4. I got a vanilla smelling candle out of the bathroom. (smelt very fresh like walking into a room with incense lit :)
5. two pieces of fruit first off a apple (Very fruity-makes me want to eat it lol)
6. second piece of fruit i chose to smell was a kiwi fruit (yummy smell, smells like my nana's garden
7. Paper was the obvious choice, smelt like (trees) :)

So that is what i have smelt today with one of our most important senses we have :)
Thanks

Taste                                              28.03.2020
Explain one fact you have learned about TASTE
1. Everyone has different taste buds, we all taste differently.

You taste different things, some things are soft, some are hard, some are sweet
Today I Gathered a few different items at home of what i tasted, I made sure that i did it over Breakfast :)
Starting with my favourite cereal Weetbix, Crunchy, then soft after adding warm water and milk :)
2. Milk
Smooth like silk,

3. Sugar
Grainy type, sweet, delicious, yummy, makes everything taste better.
FACT: When you block your nose and taste something its a weird type sensation
you cant smell what your tasting, you can still taste the flavor tho. Mum and i tried
rice crackers bbq flavor. :)

FACT; Mum told me Brown sugar raw is better than white sugar.
Thanks for viewing my blog today god bless Benjamin
